The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom For Altar Captains
1. Make sure all altar boys in place, arrayed around the sides and back of the sanctuary, out of the way, standing still and straight. No talking or wiggling around.
2. Make sure all is in order and straight, candles and lamps lit.
3. Make sure censer has enough charcoal and is lit and there is enough incense.
4. Have someone cut the bread into small squares and place in a basket or bowl.
5. Anytime an acolyte moves from one side of the sanctuary to the other, he must go behind the altar and cross himself as he passes behind it, unless he is carrying something. No one but the Bishop or the Priest is allowed to pass in front of the altar.
6. No one but the Bishop or the Priest must ever touch the altar, unless specifically directed to do so.
7. This is a holy place so keep it so.
Priest: O heavenly King, Comforter, the Spirit of truth, who art everywhere present and fillest all things, the Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come, and abide in us, and cleanse us from every stain and save our souls, O good One.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will among men. (Twice)
