Bishop THOMAS visits Saint Philip Church, Souderton, PA

His Grace, Bishop THOMAS made a memorable visit to the parish of Saint Philip, Souderton, Pennsylvania for the weekend of the Publican and Pharisee. A huge snowfall changed some plans, yet all services were held as scheduled, along with the addition of a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Monday, February 13th.

After a beautiful Vespers on Saturday, the storm began to close in and by morning, few could dig out. A parishioner with a four wheel drive truck equipped with a snow plow brought Sayidna to the Church.  Local clergy made it in and the parking lot was cleared as best as could be.

Deacon David Bleam, who was to be ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Sunday, his family and a number of relatives, along with several seminarians and families from Saint Vladimir's were snowed in at Quakertown and Emmaus where they were staying.

Sunday Services were celebrated, and Deacon David's ordination to the Priesthood was delayed until Monday. It was a splendid weekend of blessings and winter memories.   AXIOS and MANY YEARS to the new Priest David!  May God bless the Khouriye Nina and daughters Cecelia and Gabrielle. Saint Philip is the home parish of the Bleam family. Father David continues his studies at Saint Vladimir's Seminary and will also continue to serve at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Brooklyn.
