At that time: When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify thy Son that the Son may glorify thee, since thou hast given him power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him. And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. I glorified thee on earth, having accomplished the work which thou gavest me to do; and now, Father, glorify thou me in thy own presence with the glory which I had with thee before the world was made. "I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest me out of the world; thine they were, and thou gavest them to me, and they have kept thy word. Now they know that everything that thou hast given me is from thee; for I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from thee; and they have believed that thou didst send me.

في ذلـك الزمان رفع يسـوع عينـيــه الى السماء وقال: يا أبـتِ قد أتـت الساعـة، مجّـد ابنـك ليمـجـدك ابنـك ايضا. كما أعطيتـه سلطـانـا على كل بشـر ليعطي كل من أعطيته لـه حيـاة أبـديـة. وهـذه هي الحيـاة الأبـديـة ان يعرفوك انت الإلـه الحقيقي وحدك والـذي أرسلتـه يسـوع المسيـح. انا قد مجّدتـك على الأرض، قد أتمـمـت العمـل الذي أعطيتـني لأعمـلـه. والآن مجّـدني انت يا أبتِ عنـدك بالمجد الذي كان لـي عنـدك مـن قبـل كـون العـالـم. قد أعلـنـت اسمـك لـلنـاس الـذيـن أعطيتـهم لـي مـن العالـم. هـم كانوا لـك وأنـت أعطيتـهـم لي وقد حفظـوا كلامـك. والآن قد علموا ان كل ما أعطيتـه لي هـو منـك، لأن الكـلام الذي أعطيتـه لـي أعطيتـُه لهـم، وهـم قبـلـوا وعلموا حقا اني منـك خرجـت وآمنـوا انـك أرسلتـني. أنا من أجلـهم أسـأل، لا أسأل من أجل العالم بـل من اجـل الـذين أعطيتـهم لي لأنهـم لـك. كل شيء لي هـو لـك وكل شيء لـك هو لي وانـا قد مُجّـدت فيهـم. ولست انـا بعـد في العالـم وهـؤلاء هـم في العالم، وانـا آتـي اليـك. ايها الآب القـدوس احفظـهم باسمـك الـذين أعطيتــهم ليكـونـوا واحـدا كما نحـن. حيـن كنـت معـهـم في العـالـم كـنـت أحفظـهـم باسمـك. ان الـذين أعطيتـهم لي قد حفظتـهم ولـم يهلـك منـهـم أحـد الا ابـن الهلاك ليتـمّ الكتاب. اما الآن فاني آتـي الـيـك. وانـا أتكلـم بـهـذا فـي العالـم ليـكـون فـرحي كامـلا فيـهـم

Rules of the church: All those seeking to be married in Virgin Mary Church need to consult first with Fr. Dimitri before setting any dates or making any deposits for wedding receptions.
Church Dues: The Virgin Mary Church would like to kindly request all her members to pay their dues by the end of the current month. It’s only through our sense of Christian commitment and responsibility that the church will survive.

Creative Festival: The quote below is the topic for this year’s creative festival. All teens are encouraged to participate in either: poetry, photography, creative writing, and art. The deadline is March 19th!

Choir Lessons: We will resume choir lessons every Sunday after Communion and every Saturday at 2:00. If you have no received a C.D yet, please see Rima after Liturgy. We will resume lessons next week.
Lentil Retreat: We are beginning to arrange a closed lentil retreat for the lentil season. More information will be announced.

· Attention all parishioners: On Friday, March 31st, we will welcome Fr. George Kevorkian to our parish for the Akathist (Madayeh) Service which will be held on this day at 6:30pm. Immediately following the service, Fr. George will speak to our parish on the topic, “The Mystery of Repentance.” We encourage everyone to remain in Church after the service for this unique presentation that will help guide us this Lent to the Suffering and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After the presentation of Father George, there will be a Lenten meal and refreshments in the main classroom. This event is sponsored by the Fellowship of St. John the Divine. مبارك انت يا رب اله ابائنا فانك عادل في كل ما صنعت بنا
فصل من رسالة القديس بولس الرسول الىالعبرانيين 11: 24-26 و 32-40
يا إخوة، بالإيمان موسى لما كبر أبى ان يُدعى ابنا لابنة فرعون، مختارا الشقاء مع شعب اللـه على التمتع الوقتي بالخطيئة، ومعتبرا عار المسيـح غنى أعظم من كنوز مصـر، لأنـه نظر الى الثـواب. وماذا أقـول ايضا؟ انه يضيق بي الوقت إن أَخبرتُ عن جدعون وباراق وشمشـون ويفتـاح وداود وصموئيـل والأنبيـاء الذين بالإيمان قهروا الممالك، وعملوا البر، ونالوا المواعد، وسدّوا أفواه الأسود، وأطفأوا حدة النار، ونجوا من حد السيف، وتقوّوا من ضعف، وصاروا أشداء في الحرب، وكسروا معسكرات الأجانب، وأخذت نساء أمواتهن بالقيامة، وعـُذّب آخرون بتوتير الأعضاء والضرب، ولم يقبلوا بالنجاة ليحصلوا على قيامة أفضل؛ وآخرون ذاقوا الهزء والجلد والقيود أيضا والسجن، ورُجموا ونُشروا وامتُحنوا وماتوا بحد السيف، وساحوا في جلود غنم ومعزٍ وهـم معـوَزون مُضايَقون مجهودون (ولم يكن العالم مستحقا لهم)، وكانوا تائهين في البراري والجبال والمغاور وكهوف الأرض. فهؤلاء كلهم، مشهودا لهم بالإيمان، لم ينالوا الموعد لأن الله سبق فنظر لنا شيئا أفضل: أن لا يَكْمُلوا بدوننا.

في ذلك الزمان أراد يسوع الخروج الى الجليل، فوجد فيلبس فقال له: اتبعني. وكان فيلبس من بيت صيدا، من مدينة اندراوس وبطرس. فوجد فيلبسُ نثنائيلَ فقال له: ان الذي كتب عنه موسى في الناموس والأنبياء قد وجدنـاه، وهـو يسـوع بن يوسـف الذي من الناصرة. فقال لـه نثنائيل: أمـن النـاصرة يمكن ان يكـون شيء صالح؟ فقال له فيلبس: تعال وانظر. فرأى يسوعُ نثنائيلَ مقبلا اليـه فقال عنه: هوذا اسرائيليّ حقا لا غش فيه. فقال له نثـنائيل: من أين تعرفني؟ أجاب يسوع وقال له: قبل ان يدعوك فيلبس، وانت تحت التينة رأيتك. أجاب نثنائيل وقال له: يا معلم، انت ابن الله، انت ملك اسرائيل. أجاب يسـوع وقال له: لأني قلت لك اني رأيتك تحت التينـة، آمنتَ؟ انك ستعاين أعظم من هذا. وقال له: الحق الحق اقول لكم انكم من الآن ترون السماء مفتوحة وملائكة الله يصعدون وينزلون على ابن البشر.
