Dear Sisters in Christ!

Glory to Jesus Christ!  Glory forever!

This summer, at the Parish Life Conference, hosted by Saint Paul's Church, Emmaus PA, a new slate of AWE officers was elected. Our contact information is provided on the attached sheet. Please feel free to contact us with your concerns and questions. We will work to make sure that everyone receives all of the information and mailings necessary for a successful year.

As the incoming president of the region one of my goals is to reach out to you and discuss your activities and do my best to assist you with whatever I can. I will be calling you in the near future, to update the mailing list with the proper ladies president name. Please remember that every woman is an Antiochian Woman no matter the age.

We hope the following information enables your parish to make plans and set goals for the coming months without being burdensome.

ANNUAL DUES: Parish Dues are $200. Missions are exempt, but may still contribute. However parishes without Ladies' Society are not exempt; they will still be required to contribute $200 from their church treasury. Dues should be sent by December 1st to our treasurer, Marlene Ayoub, 108 William Place Totowa, NJ 07512. (Payment slip enclosed.)

SPECIAL PROJECT: Last year the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women raised $106,000 for the "The Antiochian Village Tornado Relief Fund". This year our special project is "Help the Orphans of War in Syria". Our goal set by Metropolitan Phillip for this worthy project is $200,000. Please work hard for this truly worthy project! (Please see enclosed flyer please hang in your church)Please remit your project contributions by April 1, 2014, to Marlene Ayoub, 108 William Place, Totowa, NJ 07512. (Payment slip enclosed.)

LENTEN RETREAT: Our annual Lenten retreat will be held at the Antiochian Village, March 21–23, 2014. We have invited Dr. John Dalak and Khouriyee Laila Elias, they will be presenting this weekend and the topic is "Slow to Anger". (Please see enclosed flyer.) Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this wonderful spiritual weekend. Also, please share this information with your Orthodox Sisters! All are welcome!

RELIGIOUS: This year's religious theme is praying and fasting before the Nativity of Christ. The religious coordinator is selecting a book entitled, HELP! I'M BORED IN CHURCH by Fr. David Smith. Please feel free to use this book as a book club for your ladies. (Please see attached letter from the NAB Religious coordinator.)

HUMANITARIAN: This year the Humanitarian project is working with the IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) to send Emergency Baby Kits and School Kits for the children and Health Kits for both children and adults displaced by the war in Syria. (Please see attached letter from the NAB Religious coordinator.)

May God give you the strength to do what is right and help you to go on striving and to remember that activities are not the main thing in life. The most important thing is to have our hearts directed and attuned to God. May God Bless you all.

AWE President
