Bishop Thomas Visits St. Andrew Mission + Lewes, DE

Fr. Boniface Black writes:

His Grace Bishop Thomas was welcomed to the Mission of St. Andrew the Apostle in Lewes, Delaware by an enthusiastic congregation for Vespers and the Sunday Orthros and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy the first weekend in October, 2013. The parishioners were also blessed to celebrate Sayidna's Name Day, commemorating the Apostle Thomas, on Sunday, October 6. MANY YEARS, SAYIDNA!

Our beloved Bishop congratulated the parishioners on progress since his last visit. New pews were in place, along with an imposing Bishop's Chair. Outside, the parking lot has been paved and landscaping was in place. Sayidna again spoke of the need to bring Christ and Orthodoxy to southern Delaware. St. Andrew is the only Orthodox Church in Sussex County and there is a great opportunity for sharing the Good News.

The Antiochian Women's group provided wonderful hospitality for all attending after Vespers and again on Sunday after the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. His Grace also visited our Sunday school classes and spoke with the youth.

Fr. Boniface Black and parishioners of St. Andrew invite all coming to the Delaware beaches to worship with us. Whether you are a full time resident, a beach visitor, a second home owner, or contemplating retirement here, the Church is here for you. Divine Liturgy, is celebrated every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
