His Grace Bishop THOMAS, of Oakland, PA and the East, visited Saint Anthony’s parish in Butler, PA on the weekend of July 1-2.
Saidna THOMAS presided over Vespers on Saturday night. On Sunday, with parish priest Fr. Gregory Long and Deacon Glen McIntyre of St. George, New Kensington, and His Grace presided over Matins and served the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Between Orthros and Divine Liturgy Bishop THOMAS ordained parishioner Robert (Lance) Shaeffer to the Sub-Diaconate. His Grace was very pleased with the congregational singing that was led by Khouria Nancy Long and parishioner Steve Cole.
After Liturgy, the Bishop joined the Saint Anthony parish community in their annual parish picnic. There he was treated to some of our famous Butler hot dog sauce!
The parish thanks Bishop THOMAS for his love and guidance. Having him visit was a blessing to everyone. We look forward to his return!
