St Vladimir's Seminary Seeks to Fill Full-Time Position in Pastoral Theology

 

Crestwood, NY—St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in the area of pastoral theology, beginning in the fall 2005 semester.

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will normally have:

 

• An earned doctorate in the area of pastoral theology or a related field.

   

• A degree in Orthodox theology from an Orthodox institution of higher learning.

   

• A proven record of church service.

   

• Teaching experience or potential.

   

Job Description

 

The selected candidate will be expected to:

 

• Teach a full load of courses in the area of pastoral theology and homiletics, as determined by the Faculty Council. The normal load for full-time faculty is three courses a semester, but this can be adjusted for those assuming various administrative functions.

   

• Supervise and coordinate the Field Education program, including placement of students in pastoral training programs and parishes.

   

• Supervise the DMin program until its termination (projected for May 2009).
