Development

Established in January 2005, the Development Department raises funds in support of the Archdiocese’s numerous programs, with special emphasis this year on Youth Ministry, Mission and Evangelism, and Christian Education, as directed by His Eminence Metropolitan Philip.

At present the two priority fundraising programs are:

-  “Endow Orthodoxy, Leave a Lasting Legacy for Tomorrow” which is a planned giving/ bequest program to encourage all the faithful to remember the church in their wills, trusts and / or estate plans

-  Major gift solicitation for the Christian Education Endowment; Mission and Evangelism Endowment; and the Youth Ministry Endowment (campaign goal is $1.8 million)

The department seeks to increase both the amount of operational and endowed funds raised for approved Archdiocesan programs as well as generate new sources of revenue. We solicit unrestricted and restricted donations.

Ways of Giving

The material resources we seek are but tools to spread the Gospel.

If you are interested in prayerfully giving to the Archdiocese, approved national programs, and your local church these are some of the ways you can give:

Gifts of Cash

A gift of cash can be given by check, money order, electronic bank drafts or wire transfer. Foreign currency is valued at current exchange rates of U.S. dollars.

Gifts of Securities

Giving appreciated securities may help you make a large gift through avoidance of capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and a tax deduction on the full market value if the stock is transferred directly to the Archdiocese.

Life Insurance

You can make the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America a full or partial beneficiary of an existing or new life insurance policy.

Real Estate

A gift of a home, farm, business or other real property may provide tax advantages for you and benefit the Church. Gifts of real estate are reviewed by the Archdiocese on an individual basis prior to finalizing the commitment.

Trusts

If you are considering a significant gift, one of a variety of trusts may allow you to maximize your gift and your tax savings.

Bequests

A gift through your will is one of the easiest and most effective ways to support the Archdiocese and your local parish. You can make a specific bequest of property; a stated dollar amount, a percentage of your estate; or the remainder of the estate.

Always consult your attorney or your tax advisor when planning an estate gift.
