All-holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord forgive us of our sins. Master, pardon our iniquities. Holy God visit and heal our infirmaties for thy names sake.
Lord, have mercy. (Three times)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,; now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our tresspasses as we for give those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of thre Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
A Prayer to the Trinity
Arising from sleep I thank you, o most Holy Trinity, because of the abundance of your goodness and long-suffering you were not angry with me, slothful and sinful as I am; neither have you destryed me in my transgressions. But in you compassion you have raised me up as I lay in heedlessness that at dawn I might sing the glories of your majesty. Do now enlighten the eyes of my understanding, open my mouth to receive your words, teach me your commandments, help me to do your will, confessing you from my heart, singing and praising your All-holy Name: of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
The Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, Of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made:
Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven and was Incarnate of the holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;
And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;
And He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father;
And he shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshhipped and glorified, Who spoke by the prophets;
And I believe in One Holy Catholic and ApostolicChurch.
I acknowledge on Baptism for the remission of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead. And the Life of the world to come. Amen.
Sunday Morning
Psalm 5 (LXX)
Hear my words, O lord, give heed to my cry. Give heed to the voice of my supplication, my King and My God, for to you, O Lord, will I pray. In the morning you shall hear my voice, in the morning I will wait upon you, and I will look up. For you are not a God that desires iniquity, nor shall the worker of wickedness abide with you. Transgressors shall not continue in your sight; O Lord, you hate all who work iniquity. You will destroy all those who speak falsehood; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. But I will enter into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; I will worship in Your fear toward Your holy Temple. Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies: make my way plain before Your face. For there is no truth in their mouth, their heart is vain; their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they have used deceit. Judge them, O God; let them fall by reason of their counsels: cast them out according to the abundance of their ungodliness; for they have provoked You, O Lord. But let all who trust in You be glad in You. They shall exult forever, and You shall dwell among them; and all that love Your name shall rejoice in You. For You, Lord, shall bless the righteous: You have surrounded us with a shield of favor.
Monday Morning
Psalm 89 (LXX)
Lord, You have been our refuge in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth and before the earth and world were formed, even from age to age, You are. Do You not turn man to his low place, and say, “Return, you sons of men?” For a thousand years in Your sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night. Years shall be their vanity; let the morning pass away as grass. In the morning let it flower, and pass away; in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up. For we have perished in Your anger, and in Your wrath we have been troubled. You have set our transgressions before You; our age is in the light of Your countenance. For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in Your wrath; our years have spun out their tale as a spider. The days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they should be eighty years, yet the greater part of them would be labor and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened. Who knows the power of Your wrath and who knows how to number his days because of the fear of Your wrath? So make known Your right hand and Your intruction in wisdom in the heart. Return, O Lord! How long? And be intreated by concerning Your servants. We have been satisfied in the morning with Your mercy; and we did exult and rejoice; let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein You did aflict us, the years whereinwesawevil. And look upopn Your servants, and upon Your works; and guide their children. And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us; and do You direct for us the works of our hands.
Tuesday Morning
Psalm 100 (LXX)
Lord! I will sing to You of mercy and judgment; I will sing a psalm and I will be wise in a blameless way. When will You come to me? I walked in the innocence of my heart in the midst of my house. I have not set before my eyes any unlawful thing; I have hated evil doers. A disobedient heart has not clung to me; I have not known the evil man for he turns away from me. Him that gossips secretly against his neighbor I have driven from me. I have not eaten with him who has a proud look and has an insatiable heart. My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land that they may dwell with me. He that walks in a perfect way is the one who ministers to me. The one who acts pridefully does not live in my house; the one who speaks unjustly does not prosper in my sight. Early did I slay all the sinners of the land that I might destroy all the workers of iniquity out of the city of the Lord.
Wednesday Morning
Psalm 3
Lord! Why are those who afflict me multiplied? Many rise up against me. Many say concerning my souls, ‘There is no deliverance for him in his God. (Pause) But you, Lord! Are my helper, my glory and the One who lifts my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy mountain. (Pause) I lay down and slept; I awakened; for the Lord will help me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who beset me on every side. Arise Lord! Deliver me, my God: for You have smitten all who were my enemies without cause; You have broken the teeth of sinners. Deliverance is the Lord’s, and Your blessing is upon Your people.
Thursday Morning
Psalm 62 (LXX)
O God, my God, I cry to You early. My soul has thirsted for you. How often has my flesh longed after You, in a barren and trackless and dry land. Thus have I appeard before You in the sanctuary, that I might see Your power and glory. For Your mercy is better than life: my lips shall praise You. Thus will I bless you during my life: I will lift up my hands in Your name. Let my soul be filled s with marrow and fatness; and my joyful lips shall praise Your name. Since I have remembered You on my bed, in the early seasons I have meditated upon You. For You have been my helper and in the shelter of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You. Your right hand has upheld me. But those who in vain sought my life shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall be delivered up to the power of the sword; they shall be food for the foxes. But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him shall be praised, for the mouths of them who speak unjust things have been stopped.
Friday Morning
Psalm 102 (LXX)
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his praises: who forgives all your transgressions; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from corruption; who crowns you with mercy and compassion; who satisfies your desire with good things; so that your youth shall be renewed like that of the eagle. The Lord excutes mercy and judgment for all that are injured. He made known His ways to Moses, His will to the children of Israel. The Lord is compassionate and pitiful, longsuffering and full of mercy. He will not always be angry, neither will He be wrathful forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repayed us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, the Lord has increased His mercy toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For he knows our frame; He remembers that we are but dust. As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so shall he flourish. For the wind passes over it and it shall be gone; and it shall know its place no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from generation to generation uppon those who fear Him, and his children’s children; to those who keep His commandments to do them. The Lord has prepared His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all. Bless the Lord, all His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His bidding, hearkening to the voice of His His words. Bless the Lord, all His hosts, His ministers who do His will. Bless the Lord all His works, in every place of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul.
Saturday Morning
Gospel and Epistle Reading for the Day
Intercessory Prayers
Remember, O Lord Jesus Christ, our God, Your mercies and loving-kindnesses, which have been from everlasting, and for the sake of which you did become man and deign to to endure crucifixtion and death for the salvation of all who rightly believe in You. You rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, and sit at the right hand of God the Father, and regard all the humble prayers of all who call upon You with their whole heart. Incline Your ear and hear the humble entreaty of me, Your unprofitable servant, who offers it for an odor of spiritual fragrance for all You people. And first of all remember Your Holy Catholic and ApostolicChurch which You have purchased with You precious blood. Confirm and strengthen it, enlarge and multiply it, keep it in peace, and preserve it unconquerable by the gates of hell forever. Heal the schisms of the churches, quench the ragings of the heathen, speedily undo and root out the growths of heresies, and bring them to naught by the power of Your holy Spirit.
Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon all world rulers, on our president (name), on (name), and on all civil authorities. Speak peace and blessing in their hearts for Your Holy Church and for all Your peoples, in order that we may live a calm and peaceful life, in all godliness and dignity.
Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon patriarchs, metropolitans, archbishops, priests, ministers and deacons, and the whole clergy of Your Church, which You have established to feed the flock of Your word, and by their prayers have mercy upon me and save me a sinner.
Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon my spiritual father (name) and by his holy prayers forgive me my transgressions.
Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon my parents (names), my spouse (name), my brothers (names), my sisters (names), my children (names), my kinsmen after the flesh and my friends, and grant them Your blessings both here and hereafter.
Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon the old, the young, the needy, the orphans and the widows, and on all who are in sickness and sorrow, in distress and affliction, in oppression and captivity, in prison and confinement. More especially have mercy upon Your servants who are under perecution for you sake and for the sake of the Orthodox faith at the hands of heathen nations, of apostates, and of heretics: remember them, visit, strengthen, keep and comfort them, and make haste to grant them, by your power, relief, freedom and deliverance.
Save, O lord, and have mercy upon all who are sent on duty, all who travel, our fathers, brothers ans siters, and on all true Christians.
Save, O lord, and have mercy upon those who envy and affront me, and do me mischief, and do not let them perich through me, a sinner.
Those who depart from the Orthodox faith, dazzled by destroying heresies, do enlighten by the light of Your holy wisdom, and unite thgem to Your Holy, Apostolic, Catholic Church.

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
Evening Prayers
And now as we lay down to sleep, O Master, grant us repose both of body and of soul, and keep us from the dark passions of the night. Subdue Thou the
assaults of passions. Quench the fiery darts of the Wicked One which are thrown insidiously at us; calm the commotions of our flesh and put away all thoughts
about worldly and material things as we go to sleep. Grant us, O god, a watchful mind, chaste thoughts, a sober heart, and a gentle sleep, free from all the
fantasies of Satan. And raise us up again at the hour of prayer, established in Thy commandments and holding steadfast within ourselves the remembrance of
Thy judgments. Give us the words of Thy glorification all night long, that we may praise, bless, and glorify Thy most honorable and magnificent name, O Father,
Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
O eternal God! Ruler of all creation! Who hast vouchsafed that I should live even down to the present hour, forgive the sins I have committed this day by deed,
word or thought. Cleanse, O Lord, my humble soul of all corporal and spiritual stain. And grant, O Lord, that I may during this night have a peaceful sleep, so
that on rising from my humble bed, I should continue to praise Thy holy Name thoughout all the days of my life, and that I be victorious over all the physical and
spiritual enemies battling against me. Deliver me, O Lord, from all vain thoughts that defile me, and from evil desires. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power,
and the Glory of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
O Lord our God, however I have sinned this day in word, deed or thought, forgive me, for Thou art gracious and lovest mankind. Grant me peaceful and
undisturbed sleep. Send me Thy guardian angel to shield me and protect me from every evil; for Thou art the Guardian of our souls and bodies, and unto Thee
we ascribe glory, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Into Thy hands, O Lord, Jesus Christ, my God, I commend my spirit. Bless me, save me and grant unto me everlasting life. Amen.
Prayers for Needs
Abortion
0 Master, Lord our God, Who was born of the Holy Theotokos and Ever-virgin Mary, and Who, as an infant, lay in the manger: According to Your great mercy, be merciful to Your servant, N., who is in sin, having been involved in the loss of a life, whether voluntary or involuntary, for she has aborted that which was conceived in her. Forgive her transgressions, both voluntary and involuntary, and protect her from every snare of the Devil. Cleanse her stain and heal her infirmities. And grant to her, 0 Lover of Mankind, health and strength of soul and body. Guard her with a shining Angel from all assaults of the unseen demons; Yea, 0 Lord, from sickness and infirmity. Purify her from bodily uncleanness and the various troubles within her womb. By Your many mercies lead her up in her humbled body from the bed on which she lies. For we all have been born in sins and transgressions, and all of us are defiled in Your sight, 0 Lord. Therefore, with fear we cry out and say: Look down from heaven and behold the feebleness of us who are condemned. Forgive this, Your servant, N., who is in sin, having been involved in the loss of a life, whether voluntary or involuntary, for she has aborted that which was conceived in her. And, according to Your great mercy as the Good God Who loves mankind, be merciful and forgive all those who are here present and who have touched her. For You alone have the power to remit sins and transgressions, through the prayers of Your Most-pure Mother and of all the Saints.
For to You is due all glory, honor and worship, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Animosity
We thank you, O Master, Lover of Mankind, King of the ages and Bestower of good things, Who destroyed the middle wall of enmity, and granted peace to the human race, and Who now has granted peace to your servants. Instill in them the fear of you and confirm in them love---one for the other. Extinquish every dispute and banish all temptation to disagreement. For you are our peace and to you we ascribe glory, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
O God, who art peace everlasting, whose chosen reward is the gift of peace, and who has taught us that the peace-makers are thy children, pour thy peace into our souls, that everything discordant may uttely vanish, and all that makes for peace be sweet to us forever. Amen.
Evil Spirits
O God of gods and Lord of lords, Creator of the fiery ranks and Fashioner of the fleshless powers, the Artisan of heavenly things and those under the heavens, whom no man has seen, nor is able to see, whom all creation fears: into the dark depths of Hell you hurled the Commander who had become proud, and who, because of his disobedient service was cast down from the heights to earth, as well as the angels that fell away with him, all having become evil demons. Grant that this, my exorcism being performed in your awesome Name, be terrible to the Master of evil and to all his minions who had fallen with him from the heights of brightness. Drive him into banishment, commanding him to depart hence, so that no harm might be worked against you sealed Image. And as have commanded, let those who are sealed receive the strength to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the Enemy. For magnified, hymned and glorified is you most-holy Name: of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Evil Thoughts and Desires
O God, the Father of our Saviour Jesus Christ, whose name is great, whose nature is blissful, whose goodness is inexhaustible, God and Ruler of all things, who are blessed forever; before whom stand thousands and thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand the hosts of holy angels and archangels; sanctify, O Lord, our souls and bodies and spirits, search our consciences, and cast out of us every evil thought, every base desire, all envy and pride, all wrath and anger, and all that is contrary to thy holy will. And grant us, O Lord, Lover of men, with a pure heart and contrite soul, to call upon thee, our holy God and Father who art in heaven. Amen. (from the Liturgy of St. James)
Faithfulness
O thou, who art ever the same, grant us so to pass through the coming year with faithful hearts, that we may be able in all things to please thy loving eyes. Amen
Following Christ
O Lord, who has mercy upon all, take away from me my sins, and mercifully kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit. Take away from me the heart of stone, and give me a heart of flesh, a heart to love and adore thee, a heart to delight in thee, to follow and to enjoy thee, for Christ’s sake. Amen. (a prayer of St. Ambrose)
Forgiveness
Show thy mercy to me, O Lord, to glad my heart withal. Let me find thee, for whom I long. Lo, here the man that was caught of thieves, wounded, and left for half dead, as he was going towards Jericho. Thou kind-hearted Samaritan, take me up. I am the sheep that is gone astray; O Good Shepherd, seek me out, and bring me home to thy fold again. Deal favourably with me according to thy good pleasure, that I may dwell in thy house all the days of my life, and praise thee forever and ever with them that are there. Amen. (a prayer of St. Jerome)
Be praised, O God, Almighty Ruler, who makes the day bright with your sunshine, and the night with the beams of heavenly fires! Listen now to our prayers, and forgive us both our conscious and unconscious transgressions. Clothe us with the armour of righteousness; shield us with your truth; watch over us with your power; save us from all calamity; and give us grace to pass all the days of our life blameless, holy, peaceful, free from sin, terror, and offense. For with you is mercy and plenteous redemption, our Lord and God, an to you we bring our thanks and praise. Amen.
Guidance
O Lord our God, teach us, we beseech thee, to ask aright for the right blessings. Steer thou the vessel of our life toward thyself, thou tranquil Haven of all storm-tossed souls. Show us the course wherein we should go. Renew a willing spirit within us. Let thy Spirit curb our wayward senses, and guide and enable us unto that which is in our true good, to keep thy laws, and in all our works evermore to rejoice in thy glorious and gladdening Presence. For thine is the glory and praise from all thy saints for ever and ever. Amen. (a prayer of St. Basil)
Guide us in thy way, O Lord, and mercifully show the fountain of wisdom to our thirsting minds; that we may be free from sorrowful heaviness, and may drink in the sweetness of life eternal. Amen.
Home Troubled by Evil Spirits
O Lord God of our salvation, Son of the Living God, who is borne on the Cherubim, being above all dominions, principalities, authorities, and powers: you are great and fearsome to all around you. You are the One who set the heavens like a vault and made the earth in your might; who directs the universe in your wisdom. When earthquakes occur under heaven from the foundations, its pillars are unshaken. You speak and the sun does not shine. You sealed the stars. You forbid the seas and dried them up. Authorities and dominions hide from your wrath, and the rock trembles before you. You obliterated the gates of brass and demolished the bars of iron. You bound the Mighty One and smashed his vessels. By your Cross you cast down tyrants and drew the Serpent with the hook of your humanity. And having cast him down, you bound him with hooks in the gloom of Tartary. As the same Lord, the Hope of those who place their confirmation on you, and the Wall of might for thse whose expectation is in you, renounce, drive away and transform all diabolical actions and all satanic indictments, all slanders of the Adversary, and of the powers lying under this roof. Free those bearing the Sign which is awesome against demons---the Cross of your victory---and calling upon your gracious name from possession by him and from those wandering about under this roof. Yea, Lord, you drove away legions of demons, and the demons and unclean spirits by which the deaf and dumb were held. These you commanded to depart and not return again. You have consumed all the armies of our invisible enemies, and have made wise the faithful who have known you. For you said, “Behold, I give you power to trample under-foot snakes and scorpions, and all the power of enemies.” Preserve, O Master, all who live in this house from all harm and every temptation from below, delivering them from fear of the feeble one and the arrows that fly by day, from things proceeding from the darkness and attacks by demons at midday. Let your servants and your children, delighting in your help, and preserved by armies of angels, faithfully sing as with one accord: “The Lord is Helper to me and I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?” and again, “I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” As you are my Confirmation, O God, Mighty Master, Prince of Peace, and Father of the ages to come (for your kingdom is an eternal kingdom), to you alone is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Loving as God Loves
O God, we have known and believed the love that thou has for us. May we, by dwelling in love, dwell in thee, and thou in us. May we learn to love thee whom we have not seen, by loving our brethren who we have seen. Teach us, O heavenly Father, the love wherewith thou hast loved us; fashion us, O blessed Lord, after thine own example of love; shed abroad, O thou Holy Spirit of Love, the love of God and man in our hearts. Amen.
Missions and Evangelism
God, the Renewer and Lover of innocency, turn the hearts of all your servants to yourself, that they may be found ever rooting in faith and fruitful in works, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Praise to God
O Lord our God, who hast bidden the light to shine out of darkness, who hast again wakened us to praise thy goodness and ask for thy grace; accept now, in they endless mercy, the sacrifice of our worship and thanksgiving, and grant unto us all such requests as may be wholesome for us. Make us to be children of he day, and heirs of thy everlasting inheritance. Remember, O Lord, according to the multitude of thy mercies, thy whole Church; all who join with us in prayer; all our brethren by land, sea, air, space, or wherever they may be in thy vast kingdom, who stand in need of thy grace and succor. Pour out upon them the riches of thy mercy, so that we, redeemed in soul and body, and steadfast in faith, may ever praise thy wonderful and holy name. Amen.
Protection
Be praised, O God, Almighty Ruler, who makes the day bright with your sunshine, and the night with the beams of heavenly fires! Listen now to our prayers, and forgive us both our conscious and unconscious transgressions. Clothe us with the armour of righteousness; shield us with your truth; watch over us with your power; save us from all calamity; and give us grace to pass all the days of our life blameless, holy, peaceful, free from sin, terror, and offense. For with you is mercy and plenteous redemption, our Lord and God, an to you we bring our thanks and praise. Amen. Day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but that all our doings, being ordered by thy governance, may be righteous in thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O Lord, our heavenly Father, Almighty and everlasting God, who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day, defend us in the same with thy mighty power; and grant that this
Serving God
I know, O Lord, and do with all humility acknowledge myself an object altogether unworthy of thy love; but sure I am, thou art an object altogether worthy of mine. I am not good enough to serve thee, but thou has a right to the best service I can pay. Do thou then impart to me some of that excellence, and that shall supply my own want of worth. Help me to cease from sin according to thy will, that I may be capable of doing thee service according to my duty. Enable me so to guard and govern myself, so to begin and finish my course, that, when the race of life is run, I may sleep in peace, and rest in thee. Be with me unto the end, that my sleep may be rest indeed, my rest perfect security, and that security a blessed eternity. Amen. (a prayer of St. Augustine)
PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AFTER HOLY COMMUNION
PRIEST: Glory to thee, 0 God. Glory to thee, 0 God. Glory to thee, 0 God.
I-Anonymous
I thank thee, 0 Lord my God, that thou hast not rejected me, a sinner, but hast vouchsafed me to become a communicant of thy holy things. I thank thee that thou hast vouchsafed me, the unworthy, to partake of thine immaculate and heavenly gifts. But, 0 Master who lovest mankind, who didst both die for us and rise again and didst bestow upon us these thy dread and life-giving mysteries for the benefiting and sanctification of our- souls and bodies: Grant that they may be for me also unto healing of soul and body, unto the averting of everything contrary thereto, unto the enlightenment of the eyes of my heart, unto the peace of my spiritual powers, unto faith unashamed, unto love unfeigned, unto increase of wisdom, unto the fulfillment of thy commandments, unto growth in thy divine grace and the attainment of thy kingdom, that, preserved by them in thy holiness, I may ever remember thy grace and henceforth live not unto myself, but unto thee, our Master and Benefactor. And thus, when this life is ended in the hope of eternal life, I may attain unto everlasting rest, where the voice of those who keep festival is unceasing and the delight of those who behold the ineffable beauty of thy countenance is boundless; for thou art the true Desire and unutterable Joy of those who love thee, 0 Christ our God, and all creation hymneth thee forever. Amen.
2-A Prayer of Saint Basil the Great
0 Master, Christ our God, King of the ages and Maker of all things: I thank thee for all the good things which thou hast bestowed upon me and for this partaking of thine immaculate and life-giving mysteries. Wherefore I pray thee, who art good and lovest mankind: Keep me under thy protection and in the shadow of thy wings; and grant unto me with a pure conscience and even unto my last breath to partake of thy holy things unto forgiveness of sins and unto life everlasting. For thou art the Bread of life, the Fountain of holiness, the Giver of good things, and unto thee we ascribe glory, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
3-A Prayer of Saint Simeon the Translator
0 thou who willingly dost give thy flesh to me as food, thou who art a fire consuming the unworthy: Consume me not, 0 my Creator, but rather pass through all my body parts, into all my joints, my reins, my heart. Burn thou the thorns of all my transgressions. Cleanse my soul, and hallow thou my thoughts. Make firm my knees and my bones likewise. Enlighten as one my five senses. Establish me wholly in thy fear. Ever shelter me, guard and keep me from every soul-corrupting deed and word. Cleanse me, purify and control me. Adorn me, teach and enlighten me. Show me to be a dwelling-place of thy Spirit and in no wise the dwelling-place of sin, that from me, thy habitation, through the entrance of thy communion, every evil deed and every passion may flee as from fire. As intercessors I bring to thee all the sanctified, both the leaders of the bodiless powers, thy Forerunner and thy wise apostles and, besides these, thine immaculate and pure Mother. Do thou receive their prayers, 0 my Christ, who art compassionate, and make thy servant to be a child of the light; for thou alone, 0 good One, art the Sanctification and Splendor of our souls, and to thee as God and Master, day by day, we all ascribe glory.
4-Another Prayer
May thy holy Body, 0 Lord Jesus Christ our God, be unto me for life eternal, and thy precious Blood unto forgiveness of my sins. May this eucharist be unto me for joy, health and gladness; and at thy fearful second coming make me, the sinner, worthy to stand at the right hand of thy glory, through the intercessions of thine all-immaculate Mother and of all thy saints. Amen.
5-A Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos
0 all-holy Lady Theotokos, light of my darkened soul, my hope, my shelter, my refuge, my consolation and my joy: I thank thee that thou hast accounted me worthy, although unworthy, to be a partaker of the immaculate Body and precious Blood of thy Son. But do thou, who gavest birth to the true Light, enlighten the spiritual eyes of my heart. 0 thou who didst bear the Fountain of immortality, enliven thou me who lie dead in sin. 0 compassion-loving Mother of the merciful God, have mercy on me, and grant me humility and contrition of heart, and humility in my thoughts and deliverance from the bondage of my vain imaginings. And account me worthy, even unto my last breath, to receive without condemnation the sanctification of the immaculate mysteries, unto the healing of both soul and body. And grant unto me tears of repentance and confession, that I may hymn thee and glorify thee all the days of my life, for blessed and glorified art thou unto all ages. Amen.
The Hymn of Simeon the God-receiver
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people, a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Wisdom
God of Light, Father of Life, Giver of Wisdom, Benefactor of our souls, who gives to the faint-hearted who put their trust in you those things into which the angels desire to look: O Sovereign Lord, , who has brought us up from the depths of darkness to light, who has graciously bestowed upon us freedom from slavery, and who has scattered the darkness of sin within us; do you now also enlighten the eyes of our understanding, and sanctify us wholly in soul, body, and spirit. Amen ((From the Liturgy of St. Mark)
Basil)
