Liturgical Resources

image As Fr. Alexander Schmemann wrote, "Liturgical services are not one of the 'aspects' of the Church; they express its very essence, are its breath, its heartbeat, its constant self-revelation." The communal worship of the parishes of our Archdiocese depends on the labors of our bishops and clergy, and of the dedicated work of multiple departments and organizations.

Official Liturgical Calendar for 2010

Department of Liturgics and Translations: Provides the liturgical texts for the parishes of our Archdiocese, and maintains the Liturgical Guide Online of authorized Vespers, Matins (Orthros) and Divine Liturgy notes. The department also sells the Liturgical Guide for Priests, Chanters and Choirs.

Department of Sacred Music: Provides liturgical music and organizes workshops and seminars. The department is a positive influence in the creation of new works of liturgical music for the glory of God and the Holy Orthodox Faith. They maintain a continually updated online Liturgical Music PDF Library.

Archdiocese Bookstore: Order general, special and Lenten service books from the Archdiocese. A PDF book list and order form is available online.

The "Little Red Prayer Book": Exclusive to Antiochian.org, find online all of the prayers of the popular Red Prayer Book.

Listen to the Divine Liturgy from St. Nicholas Cathedral (Audio): His Eminence Metropolitan PHILIP presided over the Nativity Liturgy in 2007 at St. Nicholas Cathedral of Brooklyn, New York. This recording, provided by Fr. Thomas Zain of St. Nicholas and produced by John Maddex of Ancient Faith Radio, is a great gift because of the beautiful example it provides us of the grace and beauty with which our Divine Liturgy can be served. This recorded Liturgy stands as a wonderful introduction to the unique song of the ancient Christian Liturgy, and we highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about the holy Orthodox Faith.

Daily Devotional Scripture Readings: Meditations on daily Bible readings from the Holy Orthodox Church's Lectionary provided by Dynamis.

Akathist to the Mother of God: Softener of Evil Hearts (PDF)

Icons and Prayer Supplies: Conciliar Press provides a wide range of icons and prayer supplies, as well as Scripture study and worship books.
