Memory Eternal! + Ann Kafoure Freije

Fr. Nabil Hanna of St. George Church in Fishers, IN writes:

Beloved in Christ,

I regret to inform you that Ann Kafoure Freije left us for the heavenly mansions on Friday, January 9th, 2015. A lifelong member and tireless worker here at St. George's, we will miss Ann as much as we rejoice in her well-deserved rest. As a testament to her faithful service, she was a recipient of the Midwest Antiochian Women's Metropolitan Philip Award as well as of our parish's St. George Award.

  • Ann will be waked with visitation from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Harry Moore Funeral Home (8151 N. Allisonville Rd.), with Trisagion prayers at 7:30 pm.
  • We will also keep a vigil in the church for Ann from noon to 1 pm on Thursday, Jan. 15. You can join in honoring Ann by taking a turn to read from the Scriptures for a few minutes as she "lies in state" in the church during this time.
  • The funeral service will begin at 1 pm at St. George Church on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015. Entombment will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery.
  • Parishioners and friends are invited to join the family for the meal of mercy back at St. George Church at 6:30 pm (not that this is NOT directly following the burial). At the mercy meal anyone who wishes will have the opportunity to share a memory in tribute to Ann or to offer a word of condolence to the family.
  • We extend our sincere sympathies to son George Freije and to daughter Elaine Eckhart of our parish and to all their family. May the Lord grant them all comfort. Please click here to read the full obituary.
  • In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. George Orthodox Church (which you can do online here), and the church will provide one large, white flower cross in the name of all who contributed.

May her memory be eternal!

Fr. Nabil
