Parish to Parish

The Parishes of the Archdiocese of Bosra-Hauran:
  • St. George in Al- Sweda with 400 families built in 1952 (needs to be enlarged)
  • The Church of the Annunciation in Daraa with 400 families built in 1964 (needs to be enlarged)
  • St. George in Izraa with 180 families built in 515 (being renovated)
  • Church of the Archangel Michael in Znebeh with 160 families built in 1965
  • St. Elias in Iraa with 130 families built in 1963
  • St. George in Kharaba with 120 families consecrated in 2000
  • St. George in Om Arromman with 60 families built in 1952
  • Holy Cross in Anz with a total of 60 families
  • St. George in Anz (under construction)
  • St George in Adara with 45 families built in 1940
  • St. George in Rakham with 45 families built in 1965
  • Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in Maarbeh with 65 families built 1965 (needs to be rebuilt)
  • St. Elias in Mothbeen with 20 families
  • Ss. Peter & Paul in Mothbeen (under construction)
  • St. John the Forerunner in Salkhad with 20 families, built in 1935
  • St. John the Forerunner in Malah 22 families (under construction)
  • Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Smj with 12 families (under construction)
  • Christ the Saviour in Jbeb with 20 familes built in 2000. (not yet consecrated)
  • St. George in Tisiya with 35 families
  • St. George in Araman with 12 families built in 1952
  • Righteous Job in Al Korayya with 45 families built in 1974

Most churches need to be renovated (interior and exterior) and ecclesiastical items.

Needs to be met:

  • Maintenance and upkeep of parishes
  • Ecclesiastical items necessary for services
  • A church in Shahba, where there are 40 families
  • A church in Jmrreen, where there are 18 families
  • A church in Remeh, where there are 14 families


How can you help?

Parish Support:

  • Adopt a parish for a year
  • Hold a special fundraiser for a parish in the Archdiocese of Bosra-Hauran
  • Conduct prayer services for the people of Hauran
  • Write letters to develop a relationship with parishioners

Individual Support:

  • Donate a financial gift for a parish in the Archdiocese

Fundraising Ideas:

  • Hold a parish or public luncheon
  • Take a special collection for a parish
  • Hold a series of lectures on the Archdiocese of Bosra-Hauran focusing on the historical significance of the area
  • Add a line item for Hauran in the parish budget

There are so many possibilities for fundraising and education. This is not a definitive list. Please use your community’s resources and talents to contribute in a way that suits your church.
